We started SportStarz with a shared ambition: to give every child the opportunity to enjoy being active, feel included and discover what they can achieve.
Founded by Elliot Thornton and Joe Stocks, SportStarz brings together experience across mainstream education, specialist SEND settings and school sport. Working closely with children has shown us how much the right support can mean - finding the confidence to join a game, learning to work with others or feeling proud of a new skill.
That experience shapes everything we do. We take time to understand each school, its children and its priorities, working alongside staff to create opportunities for children to participate, develop and succeed.

The experience behind SportStarz
Joe Stocks
Sporting Director
Joe brings experience in primary school PE delivery and specialist SEND education, alongside his work in behaviour and pastoral support.
His background as Head of Behaviour & Pastoral Lead in a specialist SEN school shapes SportStarz's approach to understanding individual pupils, adapting activities and supporting their wider development. This experience has also helped shape targeted programmes such as Brain Break Club.
Elliot Thornton
Business Director
Elliot's background includes over eight years of working with children and young people with SEND, including providing one-to-one support within mainstream education.
He oversees SportStarz's school partnerships, operations and development. His experience supporting pupils with additional needs helps keep inclusion central to how our services are developed and delivered.
